Step-by-step instructions for spreading the word
at protests and rallies.

1. Select your preferred protest, rally, or pro-democracy event to attend. Find events by searching the 50501 event list, Mobilize.us, or Indivisible events.

2. Buy 25, 50, or 100 American flags to give away. See flag vendor resources below. While not essential, for maximum impact teams should attempt to distribute flags at a 1 to 4 ratio (i.e. 100 flags/400 attendees). For large events, it may be helpful to build a larger team or coordinate with others.

3. Select a flyer from the choices below and download the PDF file. Print your preferred flyer using your home printer. (We recommend handing out a flyer with each flag you give away.)

4. Attach QR code/logo stickers to the flag sticks. First, print the WeAreTheFlag.org QR code and logo on Avery Label adhesive sheets. Then attach the label to the flag stick (more instructions coming soon). This step is optional, but it will boost results.

5. Attend the event and hand out the flags and information sheets containing the project’s goal and web address. Have fun mingling with event attendees.

6. During chats with attendees and as you give them a flag and flyer, explain the symbolic importance and power of the flag. By pairing the flag with a protest banner or special interest/cause flag we visually lay claim to the values and rights defined in the US Constitution.

7. If you observe heightened interest or motivation, invite them to get involved with WeAreTheFlag.org.
